# Function: recordStartState()

function recordStartState(
   app, 
   kind, 
   capture, 
   restore
): void;
```

For plugins: state from outside the simulation that a session starts with (stored saves). A
Recorder captures it when recording starts; a replay restores it before Startup.

## Parameters
